Dancing Crane is a temporary shade structure installation studying the possibilities of knot-tying in architecture. It is made out of PVC pipes almost entirely in tension. Two developable surfaces twist and intersect to create enough density for adequate shading while remaining lightweight; further shading could be providing by tying and infilling the spaces between members with more rope.
